Review of Jensen at Myrtle Beach Communities:
Ocean Pines/Magnolia Grove
3196 Moonshadow Lane, Garden City Beach, SC
These are resale over 55 mobile and manufactured land-lease communities adjacent to each other located on the South end of the "Grand Strand."
We were visiting Myrtle Beach to find active adult residences. We just happened upon Ocean Pines and Magnolia Grove. After researching, we found this development was by Jensen, a major developer of land-lease parks for seniors. |
|
Jensen was a well-known developer of over 55 land-leased manufactured communities for seniors and retirees since 1920's. Most of their communities are in the Northeast.
Later we learned that Jensen had built other projects at Myrtle Beach:
- Country Lakes - Little River, SC - above North Myrtle Beach, another nice residential area on the North end of The Grand Strand. This development is gated and features a pool, clubhouse and activities.
4353 Erie Drive, Little River, SC- Garden City Beach Duplex Apartments - Apartments located in the Ocean Pines community.
Also in South Carolina:
- Southern Palms in Ladson near Charleston and Summerville.
We loved this location because the homes were well spread out and gave a feeling of spaciousness in an otherwise busy area. The ocean amenities were only a few blocks away. But here inside this garden oasis was peace and calm.
It's hard to comprehend the Grand Strand unless you visit. Sixty miles of shopping, hotels, activities and restaurants right on the beach. And if you love miniature golf, this is a golfer's paradise. Restaurants, glitz, luxury hotels and condos..it's all there.
Nearby are the beautiful Brookgreen Gardens and the amazing sun drenched beaches.
Construction activity is everywhere and makes it seem a little busier than a retiree might like. But inside Ocean Pines, there was:
The gently curving streets, crystal lakes, and very tall, mature pines instantly gave me a feeling of instant relaxation.
You may want to review these homes--there is a sales office next to the pool. To make sure someone is there, we recommend that you call first.
This is a land-lease community, meaning you purchase the home only and lease your land. The land lease is included in a monthly homeowner's fee which covers various services and amenities. Low maintenance items include tree and shrub pruning. The prices are very reasonable, starting under $100,000. We saw some homes that were in the low $100's as well.
Myrtle Beach prices can reach into the millions for a condominium on the beach. You are located very close to the beach here for those long beach walks, warm breezes, and warm surf and that is what Myrtle Beach is really all about.
